According to the study conducted by the National Youth Commission, most of the young women in Taiwan are looking forward to start their own business.
Some online shops commenced by young entrepreneurs have proved successful.
While talking to media, secretary-general of the Taiwan Franchises Association, Hung Ya-ling said, “Although Taiwan women entrepreneurs have traditionally been at a disadvantage because of comparatively less professional training and fewer channels to acquire funding and market information, they have learned to apply new technology and to maximize their creativity in recent years.”
Further, Hung told that not only are more young women entering into the business world, some have also successfully established shop in cyber world.
The study was conducted by the National Youth Commission in the month of May, and was headed by Lu Jui-yang, an associate at the Soochow University.
The study was conducted among the career expectations of young women aged 20 to 45 years.
The report stated that 4,032 of the respondents were contestants in a vocational assistance program organized by the youth commission between 2002 and 2008.
“Among the 4,032 respondents, about 20% said that they would like to start their own businesses,” Lu added.
